Grubb & Krämer Architecture has worked on a number of special projects over the years. These projects were particularly challenging because of their locations and the intricacies involved in the design.
Kudu Game Lodge, Lydenburg, Mpumalanga
Kudu Game Lodge was designed as a retreat for a busy Johannesburg executive and his family. Grubb & Krämer Architecture were challenged with the task of designing a lodge that would compliment its natural surroundings and which would do the least harm to the natural vegetation on the property.
Wildlife roams freely throughout the wildlife reserve so it was important to ensure excellent viewing points throughout the lodge. A focus was placed on large picture windows, and an open plan living area with fold-away doors for an optimal game viewing experience.

Quantum Leap Investment’s Holiday Home, Trafalgar, KZN South Coast
This beautiful South Coast home boast spectacular panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.
Airey and spacious, open-plan living invites guests to relax and unwind on one of the entertainment areas overlooking the ocean below. To ensure uninterrupted vistas the design incorporated large floor to ceiling windows and a glass wrap-around balcony which also provides shelter for its visitors in the more windy months at the coast.
